Every year Parents’ Day is celebrated on the 4th Sunday of July. This year, it’ll be celebrated on 24th of July, 2016. From 1994, this day is observed as an official holiday in the country.
How to celebrate Parents’ Day
Parents’ Day is just around the corner. Have you made any plans for your parents? If not, then you can pick one from below:
1. Spend time with your parents
As long as you spend time with your parents, it won’t matter whether or not you’ve bought a gift for them. Parents are really precious. They won’t ask anything from you except your time. So, this Parents’ Day you must spend some quality time with your parents.
Believe me, “spending a we-time” with your parents is the best gift you can ever give them.
2. Make breakfast for them
Don’t let your parents cook on this day. Instead, surprise them by making their favorite breakfast. You can also go out for lunch or dinner with them. Or, you can order pizza and have a nice picnic in your living room.
3. Create a memory book
Memories are precious. Create new memories and relive old memories on this day. Make a memory scrapbook or a family tree for your parents. Don’t forget to stick some pictures.
4. Organized a party at your residence
What’s better than hosting a party at your house. Become a music jockey for that day. Search for songs that your parents love and put them in a disc and gift it to them.
You can also organize a theme party. It’ll be great fun to return to good old childhood days again. Don’t forget to match your costumes with that of your parents’.
5. Gift your parents their favorite chocolates
Chocolates are always enjoyed by all. You don’t have to be young to enjoy chocolates. This Parents’ Day give your mom and dad their favorite chocolates. Even better, you can make homemade chocolates for your parents.
6. Book tickets for a movie
If you haven’t made any plans yet, then you can gift tickets for a movie, a concert or a theatrical that they like. You can even present tickets of their favorite game.
7. Bake a cake for them
Cakes are a must for every happy occasion. So, this time instead of buying a cake from your favorite cake shop, try to bake one at home. If you don’t know how to bake a cake, then you can ask your parents or other family members for help. Follow their instructions, but do it on your own. This’ll give your parents more joy.
8. Decorate the house
Celebrate Parents’ Day by decorating the house. Use streamers, balloons, and poster board to do the decorations. Your parents will be elated to see that you’ve invested your time and energy to make them happy.
Flowers can make anyone happy. So, think of ways you can decorate the house with flowers. You can also make a garland and gift it to your mom and dad.
9. Make a card for your parents
You will easily find beautiful Parents’ Day cards at the gift stores. But, try to gift a homemade card to your parents. You can write short messages and stick pictures in the card to show your love for them.
10. Make your parents feel special
Most importantly, try to make your parents feel special. Tell them how much they are important to you and how much you love them. Give them a nice hug. Spend some quality time with them.
Always be thankful to your parents for their contribution in your life. Pray for your mom and dad. It’s one of the best gifts you can ever give them.
